Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns. Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready. And it was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. Revelation 19:6-8, NASB

Is your wedding garment stained and dirty? Are you doing things Jesus would never do? Perhaps you have just left a wonderful service where you praised God and felt His presence in an awesome way. But then you got home, turned on the television and within minutes there was filth all over your garment. The Lord looks at that and says, “I cleansed you, I washed you in My blood, you were whiter than snow, now look at you!” Listen, my friend, He is coming for a spotless bride!

In the days of Jesus, the groom often came in the dark of night to retrieve his bride. She had to be as ready at midnight as she would have been at noonday.

In the darkness of sin, you can hardly see the gown, not to mention the stains. Will you be ready at midnight? You won’t have time to say, “Wait Jesus, let me go to the dry cleaner’s. Forgive me for that pornography, the lust and my sudden fits of anger, I, I thought you understood my little problem.”

No, friend, there won’t be time. The wedding gown represents your righteousness! If you’re not holy—if you’re not living for Jesus—then it is filth.

The bridegroom’s appearance will be sudden and there will be no time to wash up, so be ready!
