Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done.
Revelation 22:12, NASB

To the Christian, heaven is our hope, and spending eternity with the Lord is our ultimate desire. John Wesley (1703-1791) offered this encouragement to those who are watching for the skies to part and listening for the trumpet to sound.

The time of our eternal redemption is drawing near. Let us hold out a little longer, and all tears will be wiped from our eyes, and we will never again sigh or feel sorrow. And how soon will we forget all we endured in this earthly body of ours. We will be clothed in glory, which is from above. We are, for now, only on our journey toward home. We must expect to struggle with many difficulties, but it won’t be long before we come to our journey’s end; and that will make amends for it all. We will then be in a quiet and safe harbor, out of the reach of all storms and dangers.

Friend, if you are a blood-washed believer and your heart is in fellowship with Jesus, then you have something to look forward to. The day will come when His glory will at last be revealed and our eyes will see Him. Those who remained faithful to Him while on this earth will finally be welcomed home. This journey called life is almost over. Soon we will see Him face-to-face. Make it your goal today to encourage others in that great hope!
