Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. – Hebrews 4:16
Prayer is a natural result of close communion with God. How awesome to think that the Lord desires that we share our petitions, concerns, frustrations and joys with Him through prayer! The closer we draw to Him in prayer, the more clearly we see Him and the more intimately we know Him. Dr. F. W. Krummacher, a fiery German preacher in the 1800s, shared the following thought:
When you stand before His gate, knock loudly and boldly. Do not knock as a beggar knocks, but as one who belongs to the house. Not as a vagabond, who is afraid of the police, but as a friend and an intimate acquaintance. Not as one who is apprehensive of being troublesome, or of coming at an improper time, but as a guest who may rest assured of a hearty welcome.
Dear Christian friend, always remember that you can approach the Lord anytime, day or night, and find Him attentive to your needs. He will never leave you nor forsake you. Stay in communication with the Lord. Seek Him while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near.
Prayer is the breath that keeps our spirits alive.
